Alpine Art Center will host the 12th Annual Artist Holiday Market this weekend, with more than 35 participating artists displaying and selling handmade holiday gifts. The holiday market will be held from Friday to Tuesday from 10 am to 6 pm at the Alpine Arts Center in the Edwards River District. The public is invited to browse and buy gifts, and enjoy hot cider and biscuits throughout the market.
Lauren Merrill, the owner of the Alpine Art Center, said: “We are extending the market for five days to maintain social distancing so that everyone has the opportunity to shop safely.” “This is a good way to find unique gifts. Method, you will feel great because of giving, especially knowing that you also support the art of our community."
Merrill said that in addition to works produced by local artists, Alpine Arts Centre will also have a list of works made by her and other art center staff specifically for their annual market. The market will include handmade pottery, paintings, jewelry, knitting and trucker hats, home accessories, greeting cards, soaps, photography, hand-painted accessories, screen prints, antlers, children's books, etc. Each item is made by a Colorado artist.
Participating artist Jennie Windscheffel is one of their returning artists in 2020.
"My family likes gardening, raising Nigerian dwarf goats and playing with our chickens," Windscheffel said. "In 2016, one year after my second daughter and I went home, I started making feather earrings and goat milk soap. I am very happy to be participating in this show for another year."
Another local artist is Margaret Thomas of Verite Designs. "I have an exciting series of 8×8 easy-to-hang abstract prints and a lot of decorations, ready for the exhibition. I hope my art will provide you with harmony, balance and a happy holiday," Thomas said.
Other participating artists include Nicole Magistro, Alice Fagan, Sam Mizwick, Jessica Bevin, Lisa Hamilton, Kevin and Ginny Davis, Ai Millie Kent, Carson Arnold, Debbie Fini, Rachel Brockey, Bobby Cornwell, Jenny Windschaffer, Lauren Merrill, Taylor Campbell, Jack Jones, Agostina Zampieri, Armando Alaza, Dianna Simonson, Katherine Steventon, Katie Van Nostrand, Michel Stecher, Mary Palumbo, Randa Richter, Patty Thornton, Tiffany Lee, Kathy Cummings, Henrietta Jones, Margaret Thomas, Barbara Churchley , Jane Pirog, Raymond Blazedos, Jody Nagel and Anne Hutchinson.
The Alpine Art Center will also have a section under $10 that contains items suitable for storing fillings and small gifts, as well as art center gift vouchers, art supplies, and painted pottery takeaway gift baskets. In addition to the market this weekend, selected items will continue to be displayed and sold throughout December for last-minute holiday shopping. The Takayama Art Center is also open every day for those who are interested in making their own holiday gifts this year.
